Trends: Good or Bad?

Trends: Good or Bad? Models

Everyone likes to dress to fit what everyone else is wearing. It isn’t an opinion, it’s the truth. We all see the new styles out there, some of us like them, some don’t. But the big picture is the pressure people can put on someone about how they dress or wear their hair - even how they talk. But is it worth it?

In 2004, suicide was the third leading cause of death among youths and young adults aged 10 - 24 years in the United States and is a big thing in the worlds current generation; kids get into a style that makes them depressed - makes them feel out-casted. They get made fun of for wearing the wrong brand name or for not even wearing brand name clothes at all. Trends can be a bad thing, but yes, they can be a good thing.

They can make you fit in with ease; they can get you compliments, and when you’re down, a nice accolade on your shoes or shirt can bring a smile to your face or brighten up your darkest hour. And feeling nice about the way you look can boast your confidence - treat your depression. Everyone now and then needs a little enthusiasm, and for some, the way to get that enthusiasm, is to follow a trend.

The word trend can be broken down into infinite definitions. But the main trend now, is dressing in brand name clothes, or wearing your hair like the movie stars. It can put force on you; it can make you upset that you can’t afford it; but it can make you happy to. It has its pros and cons. But we have to remember to not to go to the extreme; fitting in can show you the bright side of life, but it can also kill you.
