Is Bisexuality A Trend?
I like everyone.
Most people know that a bisexual is someone who likes both guys and girls. Today, loads of people are claiming to be bisexual, but do they really mean it? Are they really attracted to both guys and girls?
It all started at my school with a few people saying that they were bi. And then the next thing that you know, tons of kids are walking around saying that they are bisexual. It seemed as if they were saying it just because it made them seem cool or something. A few of my friends and I were having a party with a girl who claimed to be bisexual and we told her to make out with one of us and she thought that the idea of making out with another girl was disgusting and revolting. We were all shocked when she told us that because she had told everyone that she was bisexual. So what would be the big deal? We asked her why she wouldn’t do it and she told us that it was because she wasn’t really bisexual, she was just saying it because it seemed like a popular thing to do. She told us that almost all of her other friends were claiming to be bisexual, so shouldn’t she do that too?
To someone who is really bisexual, I think that this would be quite offensive. Just having people saying that they are bisexual left and right, when they really aren’t. They are using sexuality as if it were an accessory like a purse or something. Saying something like that just to say it, isn’t right. And also, people assume that most emo or whatever you want to call them kids are bisexual, but that isn’t true. That is just another negative bit of stereotyping. From personal experience, however, I could see why someone could say that. Most of the kids who claim to be bisexual are the “emo” kids.
I have nothing against people who are bisexual. I am personally heterosexual, but I have several friends who are gay or truly bisexual. But think about this, if you were really bisexual, would you like a bunch of people faking it? It would feel like a slap in the face. Like you were being mocked and made fun of. Just think about that before saying something just to say it or to look cool or whatever your goal is. I know that I’m very sick of hearing heterosexual people say that they are bisexual.
Bisexuality shouldn’t be just a trend, it should be something that is really how a person lives their life.
